Interventions

This study consists of clinical, morphological, respiratory, nutritional, metabolic-inflammatory assessment and gene expression of obese patients with (n= 45) and without (n= 45) obstructive sleep apn
- The visceral adipose tissue (omental) will be collected from the region surrounding the gastrointestinal tract that will be surgically manipulated, with approximately 1 g of fat removed. The skeleta

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed with obesity; indication for bariatric surgery; eutrophic patients with indication for cholecystectomy; aged over 18 and under 50 years old; both sexes; with body mass index greater than or equal to 40 or 35 with compensated comorbidities; BMI between 20 and 29.9 for the eutrophic control group.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals who present the usual report of sleep time less 4 hours per night; individuals with insomnia; shift workers; chronic alcoholism; use of neuroleptic and hypnotic drugs; psychiatric diseases; individuals with locomotion; individuals using drugs that inhibit autophagy such as colchicine and bafilomycin.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To verify changes in the adaptive capacity of skeletal muscle and adipose tissue, considering the autophagic tissue flow through biochemical and histopathological analyzes of the adipose and muscle tissues collected through biopsy.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Correlate changes in the adaptive capacity of skeletal muscle and adipose tissue, considering the autophagic tissue flow assessed by biochemical and histopathological analyzes of adipose and muscle tissues with the associated comorbidities in the study population, for example, insulin resistance and diabetes mellitus type 2
