Age
18 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged eighteen years or older will be included in the study; patients of both sexes; patients on invasive mechanical ventilation for more than twenty four hours; patients presenting a sedation level between minus three and minus five according to the Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale; patients whose legal guardian agrees to participation through signing the Free and Informed Consent Form

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who remain under sedation with a Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale score between minus three and minus five will be excluded; patients who are unable to perform active activities will be excluded; patients who upon awakening do not agree to participate in the study will be excluded; patients whose legal guardian decides to withdraw consent will be excluded

Primary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected that passive joint mobilization is not relevant to the clinical and functional outcomes of patients on Invasive Mechanical Ventilation

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Gain in peripheral muscle strength and consequently reduced time on invasive mechanical ventilation and Intensive Care Unit stay
