Interventions

The study will be characterized as an experimental, double-blind and controlled clinical trial, with the intention of verifying the chronic effects of functional training. The sample will be divided t
subsequently, in the second part, exercises aimed at developing agility, motor coordination, speed and muscular power are conducted, organized in a circuit format and performed intermittently
finally, in the part block, resistance strength exercises are performed, performed in functional patterns aimed at activities of daily living, characterized as integrated, multi-joint and multi-planar

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
We expect to find an improvement in functionality using the five-repetition standing test, the ten-meter walking speed test, the shirt on/off test, the standing test, the medicine ball throw test, the timed up and go test, the motor dual task timed up and go test, the cognitive dual task timed up and go test, the Gallon Jug Shelf Transfer test and the 6-minute walk test. We expect to see a reduction in the time taken to perform the tasks in all the tests, with the exception of the medicine ball throw and the 6-minute walk, where we expect to see an increase in the distance achieved/run.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
We expect to find an improvement in body composition using the electrical bioimpedance system. We hope to see a reduction in phase angle and an increase in lean mass.;We expect to find an improvement in executive functions using the Stroop Color and Word Test, Trail Making Test, Corsi Cube Task and the “Three Stages of Executive Function” visuomotor test. We expect to see a reduction in the time required for each task, with the exception of the Corsi Cube Task, where we expect the score to be higher, reflecting greater success in the memory challenges presented by the test.
