Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participation in the MovMais Extension Program offered by the Center for Sports of the Federal University of Santa Catarina; age 18 years or older; either sex; medical clearance for physical exercise; obesity defined as a body mass index greater than or equal to 30 kg/m²; absence of osteomyoarticular limitations that could impair the performance of the proposed exercises; provision of written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Not participating in the MovMais Extension Program; failing to provide medical clearance for physical exercise; having a body mass index (BMI) below 30 kg/m²; having musculoskeletal limitations that hinder the performance of the proposed exercises.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate changes in anthropometric and body composition measurements in overweight individuals following participation in a combined physical training program. Outcomes will be assessed via standardized anthropometric evaluation and body composition analysis using electrical bioimpedance. Changes will be analyzed regarding body mass; body mass index; waist, abdominal, neck, and hip circumferences; skeletal muscle mass; lean body mass; fat-free mass; body fat mass; body fat percentage; total body water; intracellular water; extracellular water; extracellular water/total body water ratio; body mineral content; body protein content; body cell mass; basal metabolic rate; trunk fat; trunk lean mass; segmental muscle mass of the upper and lower limbs; segmental fat mass of the upper and lower limbs; segmental fat percentage; visceral fat area; visceral fat level; waist-to-hip ratio; and skeletal muscle index.

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate changes in resting and post-exercise blood pressure following participation in a combined physical training program. The outcome will be assessed through standardized blood pressure measurements taken before and after exercise. Changes in systolic and diastolic blood pressure values ??between the pre- and post-intervention time points will be analyzed.;To evaluate changes in capillary blood glucose levels following participation in a combined physical training program. The outcome will be assessed by measuring capillary blood glucose using appropriate equipment. Changes in blood glucose values ??between pre- and post-intervention time points will be analyzed.;To evaluate changes in biochemical markers following participation in a combined physical training program. The outcome will be assessed through laboratory analysis of blood samples. Changes in levels of total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, fasting blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, creatinine, urea, and uric acid will be analyzed.;To evaluate changes in inflammatory markers following participation in a combined physical training program. The outcome will be assessed through laboratory analysis of blood samples. Changes in levels of C-reactive protein, interleukin-6, and interleukin-10 will be analyzed.;To evaluate changes in health-related physical fitness following participation in a combined physical training program. The outcome will be assessed using standardized physical tests. Changes in cardiorespiratory fitness, flexibility, and muscle strength will be analyzed comparing pre- and post-intervention time points.;To evaluate internal and external training loads during participation in a combined physical training program. The outcome will be assessed via the subjective perception of effort and training parameters recorded during each session. Indicators of internal and external load will be analyzed throughout the intervention period.
