For this study there will be two groups of elderly (A and B), with 30 individuals in each one. A previous evaluation will be performed in all of them and if dysphagia is found, the elderly will be sub

Eligibility

Age
60 Months to 100 Months

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Elderly of both sexes; Brazilian nationality; living in nursing home at the moment of data collect; with dysphagia and with preserved cognitive capacity.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Elderly people with difficulties to understand and execute simple orders; with psychiatric; neurological; neuromuscular or neurodegenerative alterations.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to find a significant improvement in the findings of speech-language reevaluation after the two interventions in both groups, based on the observation of a variation of at least 70% in pre and post-intervention measurements. This outcome will be assessed after each intervention using the chi-square or exact fisher test.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected that there will be reduction or elimination of choke of the elderly who will participate in the intervention based on the observation of a variation of at least 70% in pre and post-intervention measurement through inter and intragroup analysis, for quantitative and qualitative variables.
