Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 50 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Individuals of both sexes aged between 18 and 50 years; patients with a confirmed medical diagnosis of autoimmune rheumatic diseases undergoing outpatient treatment; systemically healthy individuals with no diagnosis of chronic non-communicable diseases

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals who report the use of antibiotics or anti-inflammatory drugs in the last six months; pregnant women; individuals with other acute systemic conditions or uncontrolled chronic conditions; individuals presenting with symptomatic apical periodontitis at the time of clinical examination; individuals with a clinical diagnosis of moderate to severe periodontal disease

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate the presence and severity of periapical bone alterations. Verified by the method of digital periapical radiography analysis. It will be observed by calculating the lesion area in square millimeters (mm²) using the ImageJ software and counting the number of lesions per individual, classifying the severity according to the Periapical Index (PAI score = 2)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate the systemic and local immunoinflammatory and osteoimmunological mechanisms, as well as the metabolic profile. Verified by the method of analyzing unstimulated saliva and peripheral blood serum using multiplex technology (Milliplex MAP kits) and biochemical laboratory tests. It will be observed by quantifying the concentrations (in pg/mL) of pro and anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1B, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-17, TNF-a, IFN-?), matrix metalloproteinases (MMP-1, MMP-3, MMP-8, MMP-9, MMP-13), osteoimmunological axis molecules (RANK, RANKL, OPG), and measuring blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR), and lipid profile (Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Triglycerides) in mg/dL
