Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Active young women 18 to 30 years of age with restricted range of motion who had knee extension amplitude less than or equal to 160 degrees and hip flexion range less than or equal to 80 degrees

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Previous neurological, muscular or joint disease that influences training performance; previous lower limb surgery; presence of painful symptoms or edema in the lower limbs; have hypersensitivity to heat application; Raynaud's syndrome; loss of local thermal sensitivity; have metal implants; use of cardiac pacemaker; presence of malignant tumor; arterial diseases; deep vein thrombosis or phlebitis; fever and inflammatory processes; bleeding processes; osteomyelitis; epilepsy; pulmonary and bone tuberculosis; kidney or urinary tract infection. Also excluded were subjects who had a training attendance lower than 85%.

Expected Outcome 1: Additional benefits of hamstring flexibility are expected with static stretching associated with active and passive heat, with angular and linear assessments of hip flexion range of motion and knee extension being performed before and after intervention.;Outcome 1: Static stretching in the hamstring muscles provided increased range of motion of active young women with range of motion restriction regardless of previous warm-up.

Expected Outcome 1: It is expected to find improvement in hamstring strength with static stretching associated with active heat and passive heat, with assessments by isokinetic dynamometry, being performed before and after intervention.;Outcome 1: Static stretching in the hamstring muscles did not increase thigh muscle strength, with assessments by isokinetic dynamometry, being performed before and after intervention.
