Experimental group: 12 runners received maltodextrin solution in a concentration of 7% (~ 700 ml / hour). Control group: 12 runners received solution with aspartame (placebo).

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Male athletes, aged between 20 and 40 years old, running above 50 km / week, and minimum of 4 years of intense physical training.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Presence of orthopedic, or cardiovascular or hormonal / metabolic diseases, or anemia.
