Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Increased performance ability scores in performing maneuvers to clear the airways and stabilize the child from zero to one year old by the puerperal participants of this investigation, by observing the performance in performing these maneuvers in relation to the proportion of correctness. The Parameters used to analyze performance was the accomplishment of the maneuvers of form and in the correct order, in relation to the proportion of correct answers, before and after the educational intervention, evaluated by a valid instrument type check list. A descriptive analysis was performed from absolute (n) and relative (%) frequencies of the items and the t-paired test for skill scores, before and after the educational intervention.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Increased cognitive knowledge scores on prevention, identification and management of airway obstruction and choking in children from zero to one year of age. The Parameters used to analyze the specific knowledge on the subject were the responses of the puerpera in relation to the proportion of correct answers, annotated in a validated instrument that was applied before and immediately after the educational intervention. A descriptive analysis was used from the absolute (n) and relative (%) frequencies of the items and the t-paired test for knowledge scores.
