Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Expected outcome 1: Decrease in the rates of glycated hemoglobin, fasting blood glucose and total cholesterol, obtaining an approximation of the normal values referenced in the literature. Measured by means of blood analysis performed with the labtest kits. The outcomes were evaluated 1 week before and after the completion of the program. ;Outcome found 1: 20% decrease in the rate of glycated hemoglobin in the pilates group. The other values showed no differences.;Expected outcome 2: Decrease in serum levels of Malondialdehyde, performed 1 week before and 1 week after the execution of the exercise protocol. ;Outcome found 2: 52.87% decrease in malondialdehyde levels in the pilates group. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |

| Expected outcome 3: Increased recruitment of muscle fibers, verified by surface electromyography and expressed by the RMS values for the muscles: anterior tibial, medial gastrocnemic, rectus femoris, rectus abdominis, great dorsal, major pectoralis, lower trapezius and diaphragm . These assessments were performed 1 week before and after the protocols were performed. ;Outcome found 4: There was no difference between the static balance variables before and after the protocols.;Expected outcome 4: Improvement of static balance, assessed using stabilometry with eyes open and closed, considering the area and speed of displacement. These assessments were performed 1 week before and after the protocols were performed. ;Outcome found 4: There were no changes in static balance after the protocols.;Expected outcome 5: Improvement of respiratory muscle forces, by increasing the values of Maximum Inspiratory Pressure and Maximum Expiratory Pressure. ;Outcome found 5: There was no difference between respiratory pressures before and after the protocols. | — |
