Interventions

Intervention group: 21 participants were included in this group. The treatment protocol for the group receiving the full-body vibration intervention was composed of nine postures, namely: A *. Dorsal
B*. Dorsal decubitus: "bridge" exercise (elevation of the pelvis and feet supported on the lateral side of the vibration base)
C. Sitting: pelvis in the lateral region of the vibration base, with feet resting on the ground
D. Sitting: pelvis and lower limbs in triple flexion and hip abduction, in the lateral regions of the vibration base
E. Sitting: pelvis and lower limbs in triple flexion, in the lateral regions of the vibration base
F. Squatting: distal feet supported on the lateral regions of the vibration base
G. Semi-crouching: distal feet supported on the lateral regions of the vibration base (90 °)
H. Sitting: pelvis and lower limbs supported on vibration base
With knee extension
I *. Dorsal decubitus, pelvis and lower limbs supported on the base of vibration, with extension of the knees (Relaxation). (* Positioning with steps). For each position, the participant remained 45 s

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Women; Age from 18 years; Body Mass Index classified as normal or overweight ; Presence of geloid fibroedema in the gluteal region.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Women in dermato-functional body treatment; Women diagnosed with cardiac, neurological and respiratory diseases, diabetes mellitus, systemic arterial hypertension, stone in the kidney or gallbladder, neoplasias and epilepsy; Presence of herniated disc; Use of pacemaker; hip or knee prostheses; Recent pin implants; Plates and screws; Retinal problems; IUD use; Acute inflammation; Acute venous thrombosis; Osteoporosis in advanced stage; pregnant women.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Increase in the temperature in the gluteal region after 10 sessions of treatment with whole body vibration verified by the camera of infrared thermography from the finding of increase of at least 1,0ºC in the pre and post intervention measurements.;Significant increase in temperature in the gluteal region was observed after 10 sessions of treatment with whole body vibration verified by infrared thermography camera with 0.6º increase in right gluteus and 0.8ºC in left gluteus in the pre and post intervention measurements.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Reduction of perimetry of gluteal region and thighs after 10 sessions of treatment with whole body vibration verified by perimetry from the finding of a decrease of at least 2.0cm in the pre and post intervention measurements.;Absence of reduction of the perimetry of the gluteal region and thighs after 10 sessions of treatment with whole body vibration verified by the perimetry from the finding of non-decrease of pre and post interventions.
