Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Women aged 18 to 45 years old with current voice complaints and alterations will be included. Participants will answer a Voice Disorder Screening Index (VDI) questionnaire and the Dysphonia Screening Instrument (DSI-Br). Only women who obtain a score of five or higher on the VDI and answer "Yes" to both questions on the DSI-Br will be included in the study. In addition, only those with altered voice evidenced by a pre-assessment of speech-language pathology and a diagnosis of: bilateral nodules or mucosal thickening or cyst with contralateral reaction, glottal gap during phonation, evidenced by otolaryngological evaluation, will be included
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Women who have thyroid gland disorders or hormonal imbalances; heart or vascular problems; have colds, allergies, or other upper respiratory tract problems on the day of the speech therapy intervention; those who have previously participated in voice research or treatment where Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) was applied; have undergone head and neck surgery; are over 45 years of age, in order to isolate variables such as changes resulting from the natural aging process or age-related muscle changes; and are in menopause
