Skeletal Muscle Enlargement

Interventions

The proposed study will be a randomized, single-blind, within-subject, repeated measures trial. The total duration of the study will be 10 weeks. Fourty participants will perform two weekly resistance
resistance training with a 120% increase in volume relative to the previous weekly number of sets [VOL120] – leg 2). The volunteers' legs will be randomized into one of the two experimental conditions

Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 35 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Women and men; aged between 18 and 35; who have been practicing strength training for the lower limbs for at least 2 years and no more than 5 years; who perform a weekly volume of 12 to 20 sets for the quadriceps muscles (including the 45º leg press and extension chair exercises).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Use of anabolic steroids; chronic use of vitamin supplements and/or anti-inflammatory medications; any musculoskeletal injury of the lower limbs and neuromuscular disorders that could prevent the execution of the protocols proposed by the study
