Age
39 Years to 59 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants of both genders; adults ranging from 39 to 59 years of age; with overweight or obesity I.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Volunteers with cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal or neuromuscular diseases that impede the performance of the aquatic training program; hydrophobia; skin wounds; and infectious-contagious diseases.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Increase of 20% in the HF index in the experimental group, quantified by spectral analysis of heart rate variability, assessed 1 week before and after the intervention.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Increase of 75 meters in the walked distance, determined by the 6-minute walk test, evaluated 1 week before and after intervention.
