Conditions

Dental caries, fluorine, deciduous tooth, child.

Interventions

Children will be divided into two groups: group A, with 110 participants, who will receive the application of fluoride varnish (Duraphat, Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals, New York, NY, USA) in the dosage
and group B, with 110 participants, who will be the control group and will not receive application of fluoride varnish.

Eligibility

Age
1 Years to 4 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children will be included from 1 to 4 years; Which are classified in the A + risk B - / +, C - / +, D - / + and - / +, F - / + G - / +; Which reside in the city of Presidente Prudente for at least one year; Plan to live in the city for the next two years; Who attend public schools; And have the consent of parents or guardians.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children will be excluded classified A- risk; Children who received professional application of fluoride in the last six months; Which have more than ten carious lesions; And are suffering from systemic disease that may aggravate oral problems or interfere with search results

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Increase in number of teeth with caries experience given by the dmft and ICDAS, at least in 30% of teeth, measured at the beginning and end of the study.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcomes are not expected.
