Age
18 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with muscular or mixed TMD based on the Diagnostic Criteria for the investigation of temporomandibular disorders Axis I - Group 1 (DRC-TMD); Have not had TMD treatment for the last 6 months; Fluency in the Portuguese language, to understand the RDC - TMD questionnaire.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with therapy failures; Patients undergoing surgical procedures during the study period; Patients with complaints of side effects after the laser session.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Reduction of myofascial pain evaluated through the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) observed in the pre and post intervention evaluation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement of the electrical activity of muscles masseter and temporal evaluation through the electromyography examination observed in the pre and post intervention evaluations.
