Age
8 Years to 10 Years
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: healthy volunteers; both genders; age between 8 and 10 years; did not use compulsory medication
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: volunteers aged less than 8 years and over 10 years; volunteers who stayed 2 consecutive days without receiving milk

| Expected outcome 1: Increase in the concentration of selenium and vitamin E in milk of cows supplemented with these nutrients in the diet.;Found Outcome 1: Increased selenium concentration of 90% and vitamin E 80% in milk. These measurements were performed after 28 days in cows that were receiving the supplementation of these nutrients in the diet. Selenium concentration in milk was determined by the fluorimetric method and vitamin E by liquid chromatography.;Expected outcome 2: Increase in the concentration of selenium and vitamin E in the blood of children who received milk from cows supplemented with these nutrients.;Found Outcome 2: Increased selenium concentration in the blood of children in 75% when received milk from cows supplemented, the same occurred with vitamin E but with an increase of 46.8%. Measurements were made at 28 days after the beginning of milk supply to the children. Blood selenium analyzes were performed by fluorimetric method and vitamin E by liquid chromatography. | — |
