This is an observational, cross-sectional, and descriptive study to be conducted from September 2023 to August 2025 using a convenience sample composed of patients hospitalized at INI – FIOCRUZ, evalu

80 years, of both sexes, who meet the criteria for hospital discharge will be included in the study. Medical records will be reviewed and an evaluation form will be used to collect sociodemographic da

18 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Subjects of both genders; aged 18 or older and 80 or younger; who meet the criteria for hospital discharge

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Hemodynamic instability; delirium; cognitive impairment that hinders understanding of the tests; refusal to participate in the study; inability to communicate verbally

An operational protocol for performing spirometry before hospital discharge of tuberculosis patients is expected to be implemented at the Evandro Chagas National Institute of Infectious Diseases Hospital Center.	—

It is expected that pulmonary disorders in pre-discharge tuberculosis patients will be described using spirometry.;The aim is to train the physiotherapy team at the Evandro Chagas National Institute of Infectious Diseases Hospital Center to perform spirometry.;To correlate spirometry with the findings of functional assessment and maximum inspiratory pressure.;To link the perception of quality of life with spirometry.;To analyze the evolution of spirometry and functional assessment after 6 months, regardless of the date of completion of tuberculosis treatment.	—
