Eligibility

Age
60 Years to 90 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age from 60 years old; light or moderate knee osteoarthritis; both sexes;

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: stroke; parkinson disease; alzheimer; use of pacemaker; unstable cardiac conditions; knee or hip arthroplasty; fibromyalgia; amputees; visual deficiency; hearing impairment without amplification orthosis; in physiotherapeutic treatment or academy training in the last 3 months; incomplete primary school education; uncontrolled blood pressure; several knee osteoarthritis; have three consecutive absences;

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Decrease in pain, self-reported in knees, verified by means of the visual analogue pain scale, from the verification of a reduction of 2 points or 20% in the pre- and post-intervention measurements.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement in physical function, measured using the WOMAC and Lequesne Index questionnaires. Adopted for the WOMAC questionnaire improves physical function, a 14-point reduction in the final score in the pre- and post-intervention measurements. For the Lequesne Index, there was improvement in physical function, with an increase of 5 points in the final score in the pre- and post-intervention measures.;Improvement in the perception of quality of life, measured by the questionnaire, Short Form Health Survey (SF-36), with a 20% improvement in the score of each sub-scale (physical functioning, functioning, physical aspects, body pain, perceptions of general health , vitality, social functioning, emotional role and mental health functioning) in the pre- and post-intervention measurements.
