Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Male (n=30). Age between 18-30 years. Being college player of field football. To be at least three months without practice strength training.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Presenting some kind of dysfunction in skeletal muscle that may interfere. Presenting intolerance in neuromuscular electrical stimulation. Injury history or surgeries in lower limb que affect the application of electrical stimulation. Continuous use of analgesics; tranquilizers; antidepressants or other central agent. Vascular or cardiovascular problems; chronic diseases; muscle or neurological disorders that can not permit a complete executions of activities.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Increase in electromyographic signal values, muscular architecture, evoked and voluntary torque caused by training with different currents of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (alternating and pulsed currents). An increase of at least 27% in quadriceps strength of the volunteers measured in a gold standard method - the isokinetic dynamometer - after 6 weeks (18 SESSIONS) of intervention.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Despite the increase in the dependent variables, both types of current will demonstrate the same efficiency as a result. An increase of 27% or more in quadriceps strength of the sample subjects evaluated in a gold standard method - the isokinetic dynamometer - after 6 weeks (18 SESSIONS) of intervention.
