Age
18 Years to 40 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Young adults (18 to 40 years old); of both sexes; eupneic (respiratory rate > 10 breaths/minute); without diagnosis of mental disorders, cardiorespiratory and metabolic diseases, or cognitive deficit

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Raynaud's syndrome or hypersensitivity to cold; using drugs that may influence the cardiovascular response; who regularly perform breathing or meditative practices; athletes

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Assess the perception of stress using the 11-point Numerical Rating Scale after the Maastricht Acute Stress Test (MAST). A difference of at least 1 point is expected for the perception of stress between sessions.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate the change in autonomic modulation verified through heart rate variability before, during and after the Maastricht Acute Stress Test (MAST).;Evaluate neuroendocrine changes by measuring salivary cortisol before and after the Maastricht Acute Stress Test (MAST).;Assess hemodynamic changes through heart rate and blood pressure before, during and after the Maastricht Acute Stress Test (MAST).
