Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Men; university students; aged between 18 and 35 years; body mass index less than 30 kg/m2; physically active; no restrictions on the practice of physical exercise; with previous experience in resistance training but who have not been training in the last six months; no history of osteomyoarticular injury of the lower limbs in the last twelve months; who have not used any ergogenic resource in the last twelve months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Subjects who do not achieve 85% adherence to training sessions; use supplements; engage in other high-intensity counter-resistance activities during the experimental period

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to find selective increases of 16% in quadriceps femoris muscle thickness, using the B-mode ultrasound method

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to find increases in muscular strength of 20%, using the 1RM testing method in leg press and leg extension exercises;It is expected to find a 10% increase in muscle activation in the regions where selective hypertrophy will occur, using the electromyography method
