Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy (non-clinical) volunteers; both genders; students actively enrolled (undergraduate and graduate) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ); 18 years of age or older; internet access and agreement with the Informed Consent Form

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Practicing any other mind-body approach; Giving up before completing the 4th week of intervention; Using controlled medication, anxiolytics, and clinical patient care

Primary

MeasureTime frame
We expect that groups of university students receiving brief yoga and chess interventions, offered both in person and remotely, will show a significant reduction in stress levels (10%) compared to the traditional, active control group. To assess the effects of the intervention on students' perceived stress levels, the 10-item Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), Portuguese/Brazilian version, will be used.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
As a secondary outcome, we expect to increase heart rate variability levels (5%) and decrease galvanic skin response levels (5%). In addition, we expect changes in response behavior (greater emotional regulation) in affective content (hedonic valence classification of pleasant and unpleasant images) under the context of academic stress.
