Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| The primary outcome of this study is the participants' perception of the benefit derived from the proposed intervention after reading the abstracts, using a scale ranging from 0 to 10. A rating of zero means very unlikely benefit, while a rating of ten indicates a very likely benefit. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| The secondary outcomes are the participants´ assessment of the study's methodological rigor, their interest in reading the full text for the study, and their opinion on the need for a new study to evaluate the same intervention. To collect this information, participants will respond to a set of questions identical to those employed in the study conducted by Boutron:Based on this abstract, do you think that intervention A would be beneficial for patients? (Scale, 0 [not at all beneficial] to 10 [very beneficial]; primary outcome); Rate the overall rigor of the study methods (Scale, 0 [not at all rigorous] to 10 [very rigorous]); Rate the importance of the study (Scale, 0 [not at all important] to 10 [very important]); Are you interested in reading the full text of the study described in this abstract? (Scale, 0 [not at all interested] to 10 [very interested]); Do you think it would be interesting to carry out another study to evaluate this intervention? (Scale, 0 [not at all interesting] to 10 [very interesting]). The questionnaire will undergo a preliminary test with a convenience sample of 15 dentists who are post-graduate students in pediatric dentistry at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). It is important to note that these 15 dentists will not be informed about the study's hypotheses, and their responses will not be included in the final study sample. This preliminary testing will be conducted to ensure the questionnaire's clarity and readability, before implementing it with the actual study participants. | — |
