The intervention will be carried out through educational workshops designed for family caregivers of older adults with a medical diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease who are followed in primary health car

Age

18 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age 18 years or older; performing caregiving activities for at least three months; not receiving remuneration for providing care

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Inability to read; older adult under care not registered with or not followed by a primary health care unit participating in the study

A reduction in the caregiving burden of family caregivers of older adults with Alzheimer’s disease is expected after participation in the educational workshops, assessed using a validated caregiving burden measurement instrument administered in person before the intervention and up to three months after completion of the educational workshops	—

A reduction in perceived stress among family caregivers of older adults with Alzheimer’s disease is expected, assessed using a validated instrument applied before the intervention and up to three months after its completion; improvement in family caregivers’ quality of life, measured using a validated instrument applied at the same time points; increased caregivers’ knowledge about Alzheimer’s disease, assessed using a specific instrument before the intervention and up to three months after completion of the workshops; identification of barriers and facilitators related to the acceptability, feasibility, and appropriateness of the educational workshops within the context of Primary Health Care	—
