Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Participants must be in a subacute phase of the ankle sprain (between one and eight weeks after the sprain event); of both sexes; and aged between 15 and 45 years
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: People with fractures in the ankle or foot region diagnosed after the sprain; treatments with a plaster splint that cannot be removed; the report of any neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, pulmonary or metabolic condition that may interfere with or contraindicate research procedures

| It is expected to find a reduction in ankle edema, verified by perimetry in “8” using a measuring tape positioned around the ankle, from the finding of a significant difference in the comparison between the groups in the post-intervention period;It is expected to find an increase in the dorsiflexion range of motion, verified through the "lunge test" that evaluates the dorsiflexion in the maximum position and with an inclinometer positioned on the tibia, the dorsiflexion ROM is measured through the angle between the tibial and vertical axis, based on the finding of a significant difference in the comparison between the groups in the post-intervention period;It is expected to find an increase in the range of motion of plantar flexion, verified through the test in the "hook-lying" position that evaluates the plantar flexion in the maximum position and with an inclinometer positioned on the tibia, the ROM of plantar flexion is measured through the angle between the tibial and vertical axis, based on the finding of a significant difference in the comparison between the groups in the post-intervention period;It is expected to find an increase in isometric strength in the plantar flexor, dorsal flexor, invertor and evertor muscles of the ankle, verified through dynamometry using a hand-held dynamometer, based on the finding of a significant difference in the comparison between the groups in the post-intervention period;It is expected to find an improvement in the patient's general condition, verified through patients' self-reports, based on the finding of a significant difference in the comparison between the groups in different intervention periods | — |
