0 Months to 4 Months

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Mothers residing in Porto Alegre and metropolitan area; with full-term children; with birth weight greater than or equal to 2500g; healthy; which have not yet begun to introduce complementary feeding; whose age range is between zero and 4 months of age.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children who during follow-up presented a weight-to-height growth deficit; who have any type of food restriction indicated by their doctor

To evaluate and to compare three different types of methods of introduction of complementary feeding in infants: traditional method, BLISS method, and mixed method through two specific questionnaires specially developed for this study, applied at the ages of 9 months and 12 months.

Expected Outcome 1: To compare the anthropometric measures of the mothers of the children according to the different types of food introduction methods when the child is one year old through weighing, height, circumferences and skinfolds measurements; ;Expected Outcome 2: To compare the anthropometric measures of children at 12 months of age according to different types of feeding methods through weighing, height, body circumference and skinfolds measurements of the mothers;;Expected Outcome 3: To evaluate the quality and quantity of the children's diet when the child is one year old according to the different methods of food introduction in the first year of life through food recall questionnaire;;Expected Outcome 4: To verify the serum levels of hemoglobin and ferritin in children at 12 months of age, compare them according to the three types of food introduction technique through biochemical tests;;Expected Outcome 5: To describe the perception of mothers / caregivers regarding the different types of food introduction in the first year of life through a questionnaire specially developed for the study, when the child is 12 months old;;Expected Outcome 6:To estimate the prevalence of gagging during feeding of children in the first year of life through questionnaires specially developed for the study and applied to the child's 9 months and 12 months of age;;Expected Outcome 7: To compare parental eating habits prior to the intervention (at 6 months of age) and when the child is 12 months of age, through questionnaires specially developed for the study;;Expected outcome 8: To estimate the prevalence of constipation in children at 12 months of age, according to the different types of food introduction; ;Expected outcome 9: To Compare the establishment of oral habits of children at 12 months of age according to the different types of food introduction;;Expected outcome 10: To compare the quality of oral hygiene of children at 12 months of age according to the diff
