Participants will be randomized into two groups using a previously prepared random order by a person not involved in the procedures and stored in numerically sequenced sealed envelopes, being this a s
those allocated to the experimental group (n=40) will receive a 10-minute massage on the quadriceps muscle, consisting of 1 minute of superficial gliding (effleurage), 3 minutes of deep gliding, 3 min
meanwhile, those allocated to the control group (n=40) will receive placebo joint mobilizations for 10 minutes using a strap on the knee for 5 minutes and on the hip for 5 minutes in a supine position

Age

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: College athletes of any sport; of both genders; over 18 years old; to train at least three times a week at a competitive level

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Interruption of sports activities in the last six months due to injuries; report of any neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, pulmonary or metabolic condition that may interfere or contraindicate the research procedures

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to find a reduction in quadriceps pain levels, assessed using a numerical scale in which participants should indicate their pain level between 0 (no pain) and 10 (worst pain); this assessment will be conducted before and immediately after the induction of fatigue, after receiving the 1st application of the interventions, after 24 hours, after 48 hours, after the 2nd application of the interventions, and after 72 hours; and the occurrence of the outcome will be verified by observing a significant difference in the comparison between the groups during the post-intervention periods;It is expected to find a reduction in quadriceps fatigue levels, assessed using a numerical scale in which participants should indicate their level of fatigue between 0 (no fatigue) and 10 (extreme fatigue); this assessment will be conducted before and immediately after the induction of fatigue, after receiving the 1st application of the interventions, after 24 hours, after 48 hours, after the 2nd application of the interventions, and after 72 hours; and the occurrence of the outcome will be verified by observing a significant difference in the comparison between the groups during the post-intervention periods

It is expected to find changes in ultrasound images of the quadriceps for elastography evaluation, indicating lower muscle tension; this evaluation will be conducted before and immediately after the induction of fatigue, after receiving the 1st application of the interventions, after 48 hours, and after the 2nd application of the interventions; and the occurrence of the outcomes will be verified by observing a significant difference in the comparison between the groups during the post-intervention periods;It is expected to find changes in ultrasound images that will be obtained from the quadriceps for the assessment of echogenicity, indicating less intramuscular fluid accumulation; this assessment will be conducted before and immediately after the induction of fatigue, after receiving the 1st application of the interventions, after 48 hours, and after the 2nd application of the interventions; and the occurrence of the outcomes will be verified by observing a significant difference in the comparison between the groups during the post-intervention periods
