Interventions

This is a randomized, parallel clinical trial with two arms. It is designed and will be conducted in accordance with the recommendations of the Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) gui
Group 2 (multicomponent physical exercise and auriculotherapy): 18 elderly patients with chronic low back pain, both sexes, will be submitted to the multicomponent physical exercise protocol associate
Group 3 (auriculotherapy): 18 elderly patients with chronic low back pain, both sexes, will be submitted only to the auriculotherapy protocol.

Eligibility

Age
60 Years to 75 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Physiotherapeutic and/or medical diagnosis of chronic low back pain; (2) age group between 60 and 75 years old and of both sexes; preserved cognitive, assessed by the Mini-exam Mental State; chronic low back pain, defined as a complaint of pain in the lumbar region below the twelfth thoracic vertebra, with or without irradiation, lasting more than six months and with a moderate to intense degree of intensity, tested by the Visual Analogue Pain Scale

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Missing two consecutive sessions of intervention or three interspersed; (2) carrying out acupuncture treatment in the last six months; undergoing physiotherapeutic treatment in the last three months; have neurological injuries or disorders that compromise walking and execution of exercises; have tumors or are undergoing cancer treatment; present bone or marrow infections and ankylosing spondylitis

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Pain intensity assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale and pain pressure threshold using the algometer. According to the study by Miranda (2022), the level of pain is expected to reduce, on average, 20% after interventions.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
According to Bassi study; Penha Martins (2023), anxiety symptoms assessed by the Geriatric Anxiety Inventory (GAI) are expected to reduce, on average, 33%.;In line with Ramos study; Ram; Cypriano (2023), it is expected that depressive symptoms assessed using the Geriatric Depression Scale will have a reduction of 15% after the interventions.;Functional capacity, which will be assessed through two measures, namely: Roland-Morris Functional Disability Questionnaire and the functional reach test.
