Adult Task Performance and Analysis

This doctoral thesis, from the Graduate Program in Neurosciences, is described as a randomized controlled trial. Participants will be selected by convenience sampling, utilizing social media posts and
(2) the short version of the Brazilian Mood Scale (BRAMS) with 24 items

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Individuals of both genders; age 18 years or older; professional dancers with a minimum of five years of experience; professional actors with a minimum of five years of experience; individuals without professional experience in performing arts for the control group; absence of physical injuries that prevent movement; availability to participate in a single data collection session

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with severe ocular pathologies; inability to understand or follow instructions provided by the researchers; use of psychoactive substances or alcohol at levels that may affect performance during tests within twenty-four hours prior to collection

It is expected to identify whether different polymorphisms in central nervous system genes are correlated with emotional responses and kinematic patterns of improvised dance movement after acute visual stress, verifying if individuals with higher motor skills show fewer motor changes than individuals with lower motor skills

Negative visual emotional stimuli are expected to alter the mood state and free dance movement of the participants, with variations in temporal and spatial organization captured by kinematics interacting with the genetic profile analyzed through the polymorphisms collected in the saliva
