Eligibility

Age
18 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed with head and neck cancer; both genders; age above 18 years; with indication and need for pre-radiotherapy tooth extraction and who provide consent to participate in this research project by signing the free and informed consent form

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Minor patients; patients who do not agree with the free and informed consent form; patients with advanced tumors who, due to the urgency of starting radiotherapy, do not have enough time to perform tooth extractions; patients with health alterations that contraindicate surgical procedures for tooth extraction

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the effect of platelet-rich fibrin combined with deproteinized bovine bone (sticky bone) on the repair process and bone formation in alveoli of pre-irradiated patients. For this, computed tomography scans will be performed after the procedure and radiotherapy, the images will be used to evaluate bone healing after tooth extraction. An analysis of bone density in the region of alveolar repair will be performed by calculating the fractal dimension, where changes in bone microarchitecture will be identified

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
No secondary outcomes expected
