This is a randomized clinical trial with blinded design and will be conducted in accordance with the Consolidation Standard of Reporting Trials
Volunteers will be invited, and if interested in participating in the activities, they will be randomly selected to choose their group
The experimental group will include 20 women aged 60 or older, without prosthetics or orthoses, with no recent diagnosis of head, eye, or ear disease, and no previous history of thoracic surgery
This group will participate in 24 one-hour hatha yoga sessions containing breathing exercises (pranayamas), postures that develop strength, balance, body awareness, flexibility, and mobility, concludi
Comparison group: 20 women aged 60 and older, without prosthetics or orthoses, with no recent diagnosis of head, eye, or ear disease, and no prior history of thoracic surgery
This group will participate in 24 one-hour sessions of various yoga exercises, with movements that promote the development of strength, tone, balance, laterality, body awareness, time/space awareness,
according to the general needs of the group

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Be between the ages of 60 and 85;Have no musculoskeletal impairment to practice;Have no prior history of thoracic surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Having been diagnosed with a recent cerebrovascular disease;Having been diagnosed with a disease of the head (head and neck cancer), eyes, or ears

MeasureTime frame
Respiratory muscle strength by maximum inspiratory and expiratory pressures; To perform maximum inspiratory and expiratory pressures, the participant should wrap the tube with their teeth and lips, as well as obstruct the nose with a nose clip to prevent air from escaping; For maximum inspiratory measurements, participants will be instructed to slowly and completely exhale the air to the residual volume, and then perform the maximum inspiratory effort; For expiratory pressure, the participant should inhale to total lung capacity and then perform a maximum expiratory effort; Both maneuvers will be performed for 2 seconds, and at least three attempts will be made with two minutes of recovery between them, and then the highest value will be recorded in the analysis; A five-minute rest period will be applied between the maximum inspiratory and expiratory pressures measurements.
