Interventions

Patients who will apply the dressing and accept to participate in the study will undergo two cleanings, one with warm saline and the other with saline at room temperature, with an interval of 10 minut

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients over 18 years of age; both genders; with chronic wounds lasting at least 8 weeks

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals under the influence of psychoactive drugs; patients diagnosed with neuropathic wounds

There was no statistically significant difference in the level of pain before cleaning and after using the solutions at different temperatures, as measured by the numerical pain scale (mean score - baseline: 1.91; score after cleaning with warmed saline 2.03; score after cleaning with warm saline solution 2.03; after cleaning 2.25 ambient serum with a P value greater than 0.05. ;The heated solution was the preferred and most comfortable solution, with the direct questioning of which solution was preferred and which was more comfortable, whether for the first or second cleaning (p minor than 0.05).

During data collection for controls, it was noticed that the temperature of the wounds was influenced by the order of randomization of cleaning, while there was no influence on the temperature of the wound bed before and after cleaning with different temperatures (baseline: 35.5 °C versus after heated solution 35.7°C; p equals 0.155) and in group B (baseline: 35.5°C versus ambient solution 35.5°C; p equals 0.486)
