Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: shoulder chronic pain unilateral and bilateral which six months; pain intensity more than 5 points in NRS, age between 25 and 60 years old.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: peripheral inflammatories conditions such as rheumatology disease; neurological injuries which affect the perception of pain; shoulder injuries with ROM important restrictions; pregnancy; previous shoulder surgery

Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) will be used to assess shoulder pain under various conditions, such as pain at rest, pain with normal activities, average pain, better pain, and worse pain with a minimum difference of 2 points. We expect that groups with photobiomodulation associated to cervical application diminish the pain more than other groups

Evaluate shoulder function through the SPADI questionnaire;The Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) is a quality of life questionnaire designed to assess pain and disability associated with shoulder dysfunction. It is composed of 13 items distributed in the domain of pain and function, with each item scored on a numerical assessment scale from 0 to 10 points converted into a percentage from 0 to 100, in which the highest score indicates greater dysfunction and condition of the shoulder. In the Patient specific functional scale patients are asked to identify up to three important activities with which they are having difficulties or are unable to perform due to their condition. In addition, patients are asked to rate on an 11-point scale (ranging from 0 "unable to perform activity" to 10 "able to perform activity at the pre-injury level") their current skill level associated with each activity.The score ranges from 0 to 30, a higher score indicates greater functional capacity. For this outcome, we expect that both the group with photobiomodulation associated with cervical and the group with only photobiomodulation applied to the shoulder will improve the SPADI score because both may have analgesia. We expect better results from both groups when compared to the control group.;The pain pressure threshold will be performed with a pressure algometer in the same regions treated with Photobiomodulation (4 points) and also in the belly of the trapezius muscle upper fibers. The measurements will be performed with 3 replications in each region, using the mean of each region. The pain pressure threshold will be performed by a trained researcher asking the patient to say "OK" at the first sensation of pain. The results of pressure pain threshold may increase according to the analgesia of the groups, therefore, a greater difference may be found for the groups treated with photobiomodulation compared to the control.
