Interventions

This is a randomized controlled clinical study with 75 patients, who will be divided into five groups: Group 1 (control) - no laser application
Group 2 (LLLT) - post-operative spot laser application
Group 3 (LLLT placebo) - simulated post-operative spot laser application
Group 4 (ILIB) - systemic laser application
Group 5 (ILIB placebo) - simulated systemic laser application. The point laser used in Groups 2 and 3 will be applied 4J per point, distributed over 41 points on the patients face, at the following ti

Age
18 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Individuals with repaired cleft lip and palate; at least 18 years old; of both sexes; without systemic comorbidities; submitted to bimaxillary orthognathic surgery to correct maxillomandibular discrepancies

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals who were not born with cleft lip and palate; smokers; pregnant women; individuals with lymphatic diseases or disorders and immunocompromised individuals

MeasureTime frame
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of photobiomodulation on the post-operative recovery of patients with cleft lip and palate who have undergone orthognathic surgery to correct maxillomandibular discrepancies. And whether infrared thermography is an efficient complementary method for assessing inflammatory processes following surgical procedures.
