Age
4 Years to 11 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age between 4 and 11 years; diagnosis of persistent stuttering by a stuttering professional; presenting at least 3% of stuttered syllables or disfluencies typical of stuttering

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Neurological alterations; genetic syndromes; mental deficiency; attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; use of medication; and/or other pertinent conditions that could lead to diagnostic errors

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The melatonin treatment will synchronize the sleep parameters of individuals with stuttering who have sleep disorders.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The synchronize the sleep parameters of individuals with stuttering and will reduce the severity of stuttering.
