Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Tinnitus group: participants of both genders; aged over 18 years; with current complaint of tinnitus; with or without hearing loss; under follow-up at the Tinnitus outpatient clinic of the University Hospital Onofre Lopes - HUOL/UFRN. Dizziness/vertigo group: participants of both genders; aged over 18 years; with a history of dizziness, vertigo, instability or body imbalance; with an otorhinolaryngological diagnosis of peripheral and/or central vestibular dysfunction; under follow-up at the Otoneurology outpatient clinic of HUOL/UFRN

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with severe visual disorders; musculoskeletal, cognitive and psycho-emotional alterations that prevent or hinder the proper performance of assessments and interventions and that interfere with the ability to answer the applied questionnaires. With exclusion criteria for cortical stimulation: use of a pacemaker or other electronic implants, including cochlear implants, metal plates in the skull or body; neurological comorbidities; severe heart disease; history of epilepsy and/or seizures; pregnant/lactating women

MeasureTime frame
At the end of this study, it is expected that there will be a decrease in the perception of tinnitus and dizziness.;It is expected to find scientific evidence that corroborates the effectiveness of the use of neuromodulation, through Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation, as a therapeutic strategy in the clinical conditions of patients with tinnitus; as well as, in vestibular dysfunctions, which express themselves with symptoms of dizziness/vertigo.

It is expected that the use of this innovative treatment will bring new information that will contribute to the prognosis and understanding of the physiological mechanisms involved in tinnitus and dizziness, in order to contribute to the establishment of guidelines and protocols for tDCS intervention in these symptoms.;It is expected that the results found may strengthen the structuring and implementation of public policies, considering that, within the Unified Health System (SUS), there are still limited treatment options for tinnitus and dizziness/vertigo.
