fortified porridge Type of group
A porridge made from wheat flour fortified with iron (with or without zinc). The components will be wheat flour, isolated soy protein, skim milk powder, sugar and palm butter. Group name:Vitamin supplement Type of group
The supplement Supradyn in drops of Roche will be used as a multivitamin preparation, to which will be added either a certain amount of a solution of zinc sulphate or the same amount of distilled water.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children between 5 and 7 months. Size for the age of 80 g / L

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: No presentan enfermedades congenitas u otras enfermedades cronicas que puedan interferir con su crecimiento fisico, y si es que sus familias tienen planeado permanecer en la comunidad por lo menos seis meses.

Outcome name:The concentrations of zinc, copper, ferritin and C-reactive protein in serum will be measured. The plasma concentrations of leptin, ghrelin, glucose and insulin and the blood hemoglobin concentration in the subgroup of children will also be measured. Measure:Effects of zinc supplements administered either as a liquid supplement (incorporated into a multivitamin) or a fortified wheat product in the zinc state and the growth and morbidity of children between 6 and 15 months of age compared to those children who receive the same supplements and wheat products without zinc. Timepoints:every 2 months
