Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Current resident of a participating sober living house in Arusha, Tanzania Aged 18 years or older Currently receiving residential treatment for a substance use disorder Has resided in the sober house for at least 30 days at the time of enrollment In good standing with sober house staff Plans to remain in the sober house for the duration of the intervention period Intends to reside in the Arusha area following discharge to allow completion of follow-up assessments Able to provide written informed consent in Kiswahili or English

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Unable to provide informed consent due to cognitive impairment or acute psychiatric instability Plans to relocate outside the Arusha area during the intervention or follow-up period Deemed by sober house staff to be unable to safely participate in group-based intervention activities

MeasureTime frame
Feasibility of participant recruitment, defined as the proportion of eligible sober house residents who provide informed consent to participate in the CHIMES Recovery intervention.;Participant retention, defined as the proportion of enrolled participants who complete follow-up assessments.;Intervention participation, defined as attendance at microenterprise training sessions and engagement in HIV prevention and care services during the intervention period.;Acceptability of the CHIMES Recovery intervention, assessed using participant satisfaction measures derived from the Client Satisfaction Questionnaire (CSQ-8) and qualitative feedback.

MeasureTime frame
HIV care engagement, including uptake of HIV testing and initiation or continuation of antiretroviral therapy (ART) or pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).;Engagement in income-generating activities or microenterprise following discharge from the sober house.;Change in substance use patterns measured using the Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test (ASSIST).
