Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: • Adult patients with ASA physical status I-?. • Scheduled for elective major abdominal surgery under general anesthesia combined with epidural analgesia. • Either genders • Age from 18- 70. • BMI < 35 Kg/m2.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: • Refusal to participate in the study. • Allergy to any of the studied drugs. • Infection at the site of insertion. • Severe cardiac, renal, hepatic, neurological or respiratory disease • Chronic pain or immunodeficiency. • Body mass index = 35. • Bleeding tendency or coagulative disorders, (INR>1.4 and/or platelet<80.000)

| • Demographic data (age, gender, BMI and ASA classification). • MBP, HR, SPo2 and RR: before and immediately after initiating the block, every 15 min in the 1st hour, and every 30 min till end of surgery, then at the same time points of VAS. • Time of 1st request of analgesia (rescue postoperative analgesic) • Total consumptions of postsurgical analgesics used as a rescue medication within the first 24 hours. . • Postoperative side effects as nausea, vomiting, hypotension, bradycardia | — |
