Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children aged 12–17 years whose body mass index (BMI) is = 95th percentile for age and sex for more than 6 months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Secondary causes of obesity (genetic or endocrine) • Type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus • Chronic systemic diseases such as renal, hepatic, or cardiovascular disease. • Use of medications that affect the cardiovascular, weight, or metabolism within the last 3 months. • Known hypersensitivity to metformin or orlistat
