Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients: adults undergoing major surgery in selected hospitals able to consent; accessible by phone for follow-up. HCWs: proactive surgical unit staff with good IPC compliance/reputation and facilitation skills.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients: A patient who has undergone surgery in another healthcare facility, who comes for follow-up, A patient with antibiotics, A patient with optometry, ENT, and maxillofacial surgery cases; a critical patient, A patient with an implant and a patient not willing to undergo the study will be excluded. HCWs: healthcare workers, those who are absent on the data collection date and unwilling to participate
