Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Adults aged 18 years and above 2.Patients diagnosed with uncomplicated inguinal hernia 3.Patients scheduled for elective open inguinal hernia repair 4.Patients classified as ASA I or II (American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status) 5.Patients who are fit for both local and spinal anaesthesia 6.Patients who provide written informed consent to participate in the study
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Complicated inguinal hernia (e.g., strangulated, obstructed, or recurrent complicated cases) 2.Emergency hernia repair cases 3.Contraindications to spinal anaesthesia (e.g., coagulopathy, infection at puncture site, severe hypovolemia, raised intracranial pressure) 4.Known allergy to local anaesthetic agents (lidocaine or bupivacaine) 5.ASA physical status III or above 6.Patient refusal to participate or withdraws consent 7.Severe comorbid conditions making surgery unsafe under either anaesthesia technique 8.Cognitive impairment or inability to give informed consent
