Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Students who fall within the age group of 10–17 years Students who were able to provide a written informed consent from a parent or guardian Students who assented voluntarily to participate in the study Teachers who are employed in any of the participating schools Teachers who are available to participate in all stages of the study Parents of students enrolled in any of the participating schools

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants with pre-existing knowledge or involvement in myopia-specific interventions Participants who did not provide an informed consent Students with a history of irregular school attendance Students who did not fall within the specified age group of 10–17 years Teachers who are not employed in any of the participating schools

Primary Outcomes Outcome Type: Primary Outcome Outcome 1: Awareness of Myopia Description: The proportion of participants who had heard about myopia before and after the health education intervention, determined by the question "Have you heard about myopia before?" scored as 1 (Yes) or 0 (No) Time Points Measured: Baseline (before the intervention) One month after the health education program ended (post-intervention) Outcome 2: Knowledge of Myopia Description: The level of knowledge about myopia among participants, assessed using knowledge questions covering causes/risk factors, consequences, and preventive behaviors of myopia. Scored as 0 (incorrect) or 1 (correct) per question, with total scores categorized as Poor (0–3), Moderate (4–6), or Good (7–9) Time Points Measured: Baseline (before the intervention) One month after the health education program ended (post-intervention)

Mean attitude scores were categorized as Poor (0–1), Moderate (2–3), or Good (4–5) Time Points Measured: Baseline (before the intervention) One month after the health education program ended (post-intervention) Outcome 4: Practices Toward Myopia Prevention Description: The level of preventive practices toward myopia among participants, including time spent outdoors daily, adherence to the 20-20-20 rule, frequency of breaks from near work/screen time, encouragement of regular eye check-ups, and willingness to adopt healthier eye care habits. Responses were binary coded as 0 (poor practice) or 1 (good practice), with total scores categorized as Poor (0–2), Moderate (3–4), or Good (5–6) Time Points Measured: Baseline (before the intervention) One month after the health education program ended (post-intervention)
