Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age = 18 years Invasive mechanical ventilation = 48 hours Expected ICU stay = 72 hours Hemodynamic stability compatible with mobilisation Enteral nutrition feasible

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Contraindication to mobilisation Neuromuscular disease affecting baseline strength Severe malnutrition requiring specialized management Pregnancy Expected death within 24 hours Limitation of therapeutic effort

Incidence of ICU-acquired weakness, defined as a Medical Research Council (MRC) sum score <48, assessed at first awakening from sedation.
