Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients aged = 18 years Both male and female patients Diagnosis of sepsis according to Sepsis-3 criteria within 24 hours of ICU admission (suspected or confirmed infection with an acute increase in SOFA score = 2) Expected ICU length of stay = 7 days Patients who are fully conscious, alert, and cooperative at the time of ICU-acquired weakness assessment Written informed consent obtained from the patient or legal representative

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Age < 18 years ICU stay < 7 days Failure to achieve full recovery of consciousness Pre-existing neuromuscular disorders, neurological disease, spinal cord injury, or prior neurosurgical disease Inability to obtain adequate muscle ultrasound images Incomplete clinical or laboratory data Use of medications known to affect muscle strength, including: Corticosteroids Neuromuscular blocking agents Aminoglycoside antibiotics Certain chemotherapeutic agents
