Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients aged 18 years or older Patients diagnosed with simple transsphincteric anal fistula Patients suitable for surgical management Patients willing to participate and provide informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with complex anal fistula Patients with Crohn disease or inflammatory bowel disease Recurrent anal fistula Patients with uncontrolled systemic disease or unfit for surgery

Measure	Time frame
Complete fistula healing defined as closure of the external opening without discharge and absence of abscess or recurrent fistula.	—

Secondary

Measure	Time frame
Postoperative continence assessed using the Wexner continence score.;Recurrence of anal fistula after initial healing.;Postoperative pain measured using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS).	—
