Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (i) diagnosis of primary knee osteoarthritis based on the American College of Rheumatology clinical criteria19; (ii) ability to ambulate independently with or without an assistive device.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (i) a history of knee surgery; (ii) non-ambulatory status; (iii) presence of underlying inflammatory pathologies (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis); (iv) severe cardiopulmonary conditions contradicting exercise; and (v) cognitive impairment preventing comprehension of instructions.
