Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged between 18 and 60 years, Patients had an American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status of I or II, And scheduled for elective tympanomastoidectomy under general anesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who refused to participate, Those with an ASA physical status of III or IV, Patients with a history of clinically significant cardiac, hepatic, renal, respiratory, or neurological disease, A known allergy or contraindication to any study medication, Patients currently receiving antiemetic therapy

MeasureTime frame
The incidence of post operative nausea and vomiting defined as the total number of emetic episodes (retching and/or vomiting) within the first 24 hours

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Time to first rescue antiemetic treatment with ondansetron (4 mg IV), administered only after the second episode of vomiting within the first 24 hours, and the total number of rescue antiemetic doses required;Post operative nausea and vomiting severity: assessed using the Rhodes score ;Patient Satisfaction: on a 3-point scale (1= unsatisfied, 2= neither satisfied nor unsatisfied, 3= satisfied
