Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Age = 18 years Classified as American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status = 3 Scheduled for total knee arthroplasty under spinal anesthesia Able to understand the principles of the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for pain assessment Provided written informed consent during the pre-anesthesia visit
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Failure of spinal anesthesia Failure of the peripheral nerve block Occurrence of a serious anesthesia- or surgery-related complication Patient refusal Inability to understand pain assessment using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) Presence of a contraindication to spinal anesthesia Known allergy to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), paracetamol, or local anesthetics Chronic treatment with gabapentin (regular use for more than three months) or opioids (use for more than three months, or the equivalent of at least 5 mg morphine per day for one month)
